Happy Thursday Hidden Gem Travel community! I hope that everyone who celebrates had a Happy Easter or Passover. I had an unusual Easter this year as it was a travel day. I awoke in Venice, Italy, spent two hours in Paris’s Charles de Gaulle airport and arrived in New York City the same evening. It was a looong travel day.
I’m just back from a whirlwind week exploring the gems (hidden and well-known) of Northern Italy! In future newsletters, I’ll be giving you the inside scoop about the experience, but this week is a high-level overview. I hope it inspires you! Read on for the scoop…

A Whirlwind Trip
I was on the go every single day last week! My exploration included:
- Milan (a fashion and financial capital; home of The Last Supper)
- Lake Como (Bellagio & Varenna)
- Verona (of Romeo & Juliette fame)
- Valpolicella (wine tasting at a vineyard)
- Venice (iconic!)
- Chioggia (known as Little Venice)
- Padua (medieval city)
- Bologna (foodie capital)
- Murano (known for glass making)
- Burano (known for colorful buildings and lace-making)
- Torcello (peaceful, 600 AD ancient)
How did I accomplish so much in a condensed timeframe? I was on a river cruise that made getting around seamless, delicious, and luxurious! Contact me to find out how you can take this incredible trip which included numerous special access experiences without the crowds. One example was a private viewing of The Last Supper in Milan – unforgettable.
Since I’m short on time this week, below are just a few of my favorite photos – enjoy!! Oh and the weather was ideal – sunny and ranging from cool to warm.
