Happy Thursday Hidden Gem Travel community! I’m coming to you this week from sunny south Florida where I’ve had business meetings as well as time with friends and family. It’s been nice to get away from the snow and ice in New England especially after spending a couple weeks in perfect weather in Egypt in January.
This newsletter is the third I’ve written about my recent trip to Egypt. I can’t recommend a trip to Egypt enough for people who are intrigued. The logistics and many options can be complicated to sort through but that’s why you work with a professional travel advisor 😊
Read on for the final scoop on Egypt for now (and more of my own photos), and the many reasons why Egypt is such an incredible trip well worth your time and investment…
BRAINSTORM AND BOOK A TRIP TO EGYPT
Egpyt Is…
A trip to Egypt is many wonderful things…
*A place to dive into ancient history – a “learncation.” With an Egyptologist storyteller, 2500 BC will come to life with stories of the Pharaohs and the lives of the ancient Egyptians who built the pyramids and documented their history in hieroglyphics. Your Egyptologist storyteller will bring ancient times to the present.
*A fun place to experience – colorful markets, whirling dervishes, music and dancing, sailing, dining, riding camels, relaxing, and more. An Egypt trip is packed with fun and funny moments.
*A photographer’s paradise – picture the sunrise over the Valley of the Kings in your hot air balloon and sunset over the river Nile with sail boats cruising along the shores. Your treasured photos and videos will include temples lit up at night and inside of the tombs of the Pharaohs with close ups of the hieroglyphics.
*A place to experience with friends/family – go together to share the unforgettable moments on a customized itinerary. The memories will be priceless.
*A place to eat well and dine – I’m not an adventurous eater, so just between us, I hoped to lose a few lbs while in Egypt. No chance of that happening from the sumptuous breakfast buffets, delicious gourmet dinners with choices from simple dishes to more exotic. Fantastic desserts and pastries at every turn. The fresh mint and mango smoothies. I’ll stop now 😊
*A place to go when temperatures are cooler – the best time to go is November through March with shoulder season being October and April. Also, go when you have longer than one week, however shorter itineraries can be arranged.
*A place to experience luxury travel, from river boats to hotels, and truly disconnect from daily life (aka a real vacation).
*A shopper’s nirvana – pack a large foldable duffle bag. You won’t regret it even if you don’t love to shop. Top purchases include soft Egyptian sheets, perfumes and essential oils, high quality, handmade rugs, clothing made of Egyptian cotton, Alabaster home goods, stunning jewelry, scarves in a variety of fabrics, designs and styles – and more. Basically, your holiday gifts are sorted from the practical to the whimsical.
*A good destination to add on a nearby stop for a few days – I wished I’d had time to explore Dubai as I connected there both ways.
*A true adventure – carpe diem! To travel is to live!
💎 Hidden Gem Tip: During your trip consultation I’ll share the best way to fly to Egypt. While flying is never a highlight of any trip for me, this time it was an enjoyable experience.
